Mission Statement
The California Healthy Foods Coalition is an alliance of California organizations and community leaders committed to protecting agriculture's access to science and farming practices that ensure a safe and affordable food source for American consumers and their trading partners all over the world.
The coalition believes that agriculture must have access to tools such as biotechnology, which improve the environment without causing economic hardship to family farmers and California's economy.
The coalition believes family farmers need innovative technologies that protect California's farming community from diseases that destroy crops and devastate communities dependent on the farming way of life for jobs.
The coalition believes biotechnology can serve an important role in developing innovative low-cost medicines to improve the quality of life for all Americans through medical research and the promise of curing life-threatening diseases.
Efforts to ban biotechnology threaten the quality of life of California family farmers and the consumers they serve.
